Dr. R. Michael Reid, DVM grew up in rural SE Kansas. He graduated from Kansas State University where he earned the Senior Class Surgery Proficiency award. He then served as Base Veterinarian at Little Rock, AR Airforce Base.

In 1986 Dr. Reid built the Animal Health Center three miles north of I44 where we remain today. Over the years his dedication to small animal care skills and knowledge has been advanced by attending conferences and seminars all over the country.

Dr. Reid is a licensed pilot, having a commercial certificate with an instrument rating and 1800 hours, all accident free, and has flown all over the USA. Shop work and raising cattle are his hobby's now. He is active in Springfield Bible Church and supports many missionary and charity organizations.

 

Kayla has been with AHC seven years, having originally started in veterinary medicine in 2002. You will likely meet Kayla smiling to you from behind the desk ready to share her vast knowledge about your pet's needs. Fun Fact: She loves music, enjoys writing songs and can play up a storm on the tambourine.

 

Mikalah has 4 years of experience at AHC. She is currently a student at MU in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program and working summers when home in Springfield. Her favorite area is dentistry, and she is extremely solid in all areas of her skills as a Veterinary Technician. Fun Fact: This year she will be spending her summer on a missions trip in Arizona at the Navajo Nation.

 

Meghan, our Lead technician joined AHC in March 2020, celebrating three years of service. She demonstrates confidence working with your pet and is a skilled Veterinary Technician. Additionally, she is knowledgeable and helps out working behind the desk when needed. Fun Fact: She is an avid reader and a Pit Bull advocate.

Lindy happily joined AHC a little over two years ago, coming out of retirement where she had previously worked with special needs/autistic children. She brings levity to the team and a gentle patience when working with your pet. Fun Fact: She volunteers at Honor Flight of the Ozarks, a program for our Military Veterans.

 

Debi began at AHC January 2022. She is a retired RN transitioning from human to veterinary medicine. Additionally, she has an AD in Computer Information Systems with interest in web design. Fun Fact: She built this website.

Val, our new Receptionist, joined our team May 10, 2023. She has been in healthcare all of her adult life. She is a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant, graduating in 2012. You'll meet her up front in the clinic and find she's a very compassionate and capable new member to our clinic. Fun Fact: She loves her coffee, family and her dog.
